Conveyor Experts B.V. (in short ConvEx) is an independent professional engineering firm, which provides engineering and consulting services to the mining and bulk material handling industries. The president and founder of Conveyor Experts B.V. is Prof.dr.ir. Gabriel Lodewijks, a well-known expert in the field.
Prof. Lodewijks studied Mechanical Engineering at Twente University and Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, from which he obtained a master degree (cum laude) in 1992. He specialized in transport technology, material engineering and dynamics. He obtained his Ph.D. degree (doctorate) at Delft University of Technology on the dynamics of belt systems in 1996. Prof. Lodewijks established ConvEx in 1999 after 8 years of experience in the industry including three years in the USA. Prof. Lodewijks wrote over 50 papers and contributed to four books. He is frequently commissioned to act as an expert witness.
ConvEx head offices are located in Emmer-Compascuum, which is in the North-East corner of the Netherlands, close to Germany. Associated offices are located in the Republic of South Africa, India and the United States.
Recently ConvEx acquired a conveyor belt manufacturer Banzo, established in 1947, which further strengths its capabilities and enables further expansion. Today, the combined number of employees is 22.
Major current clients are located in Australia, the Netherlands, the Republic of South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Israel, and India.
In 2000 Prof. Lodewijks was appointed a professor of Transport and Logistic Technology at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.
